Why This Role Exists
This role exists to support aerospace manufacturing and repair programs requiring precision milling across both production and NPI (New Product Introduction) work. At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a key role in machining complex components while supporting process development and continuous improvement.
The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Perform complex setups and operate CNC milling machines, including Devlieg equipment
Support both established production jobs and NPI work with minimal supervision
Make program edits and process adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and machining instructions
Verify dimensions using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, depth gages, height gages, and verniers
Work with engineering to optimize part positioning, tooling pressure, and machining processes
Detect and report machining issues, material concerns, or quality deviations
Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and process consistency
Support continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing practices

What We’re Looking For
Required
3–5+ years of CNC machining experience
Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines
Familiarity with Fanuc controls
Strong math skills and understanding of GD&T
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets
Experience troubleshooting machining processes and making adjustments
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred (Not Required)
Aerospace manufacturing experience
Experience with Devlieg milling machines
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Willingness to learn CNC programming
