Position Summary
As an LPN at our facility, you will play a hands‑on role in delivering care to a vulnerable population under the guidance of RNs and medical providers. You will provide skilled nursing services to incarcerated individuals with opioid use disorders at the New Mexico Corrections Department (NMCD). The MOUD Nurse performs ongoing risk assessments, triage, teaching, inductions, stabilizations, medication administration and monitoring of patients in the MOUD treatment program. You will assist in the primary care of patients within the MOUD treatment program.
Responsibilities
Administer medication and treatments as ordered
Assist with activities of daily living and therapeutic interventions
Take vital signs and monitor patient conditions
Provide wound care and change dressings
Support documentation and care planning
Promote hygiene, sanitation, and a safe environment for all patients
Serve as a vital part of a multidisciplinary treatment team
Qualifications
Active unrestricted LPN license and 1–2 years of nursing experience (correctional experience preferred)
Active CPR certification
Strong clinical and communication skills; adaptability in high‑pressure settings
A compassionate, non‑judgmental approach to patient care
