
CREDIT ANALYST - COMMERCIAL

Position Summary
The primary objective of the Commercial Credit Analyst is to assist the Commercial Lending team in protecting the company’s financial assets. The analyst will use independent judgement and discretion to investigate credit requests, coordinate reviews, and manage credit risk within the portfolio.
Responsibilities
Analyzing financial data of clients/prospects (30%)
Analyze client financial data, such as statements, ratios, credit reports, third‑party sources, and other relevant data to assess creditworthiness.
Provide accurate information and sound judgments regarding commercial clients’ creditworthiness to Relationship Managers and decision makers.
Monitor current status and problems of assigned accounts, bringing significant issues to attention with recommendations for action.
Assist with administration of financial statement tracking software.
Preparing loan reviews and presentations on clients/prospects (30%)
Communicate with Relationship Managers and clients to obtain all information needed for annual reviews and renewals on time.
Underwrite and present credit presentations while adhering to the bank’s credit policies and guidelines.
Support the credit department in planning and coordinating the commercial loan review and risk rating processes.
Assist with preparation and execution of facility documentation.
Provide assistance in the general administration of the commercial loan portfolio and proactively seek out and drive process improvements.
Assisting in the sales process (25%)
Conduct pre‑call industry and company research to support the sales process.
Assist Relationship Managers in ensuring CRM is updated for clients and prospects.
Attend and participate in prospect meetings to help evaluate the creditworthiness of the business.
Credit risk monitoring support (15%)
Support the credit department in preparing reports on the quality and trends for the commercial loan portfolio.
Monitor existing client risk elements, communicate with clients to resolve issues, and bring significant items to the Relationship Manager with recommendations for action.
Recommend continuous improvement to the bank’s credit monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline
Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Excel
Previous banking experience a plus
