Heavy Equipment Operator III
Responsible for operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, and front‑end loaders at WM’s landfill in Sparta, TN, while ensuring safety and maintenance compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance and maintain accurate records.
Move and position raw materials and finished components using material‑moving equipment.
Follow standard operating procedures and guidelines for operation and maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
Over 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to perform physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successfully complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Requires motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g., machine operation).
Exert physical effort handling objects under 30 pounds occasionally.
Exposure to physical occupational risks such as cuts, burns, and toxic chemicals rarely.
Exposed to dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
Normal setting: shop or field.
