Position Overview
Our Accounting Specialists play a key role in supporting multiple clients with their day-to-day accounting while also serving as a client-facing resource. This position blends hands-on bookkeeping with client communication and financial review support.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident in managing accounting tasks independently, enjoys working directly with clients, and is interested in growing their skills beyond transactional work into more insight-driven support.
Key Responsibilities
Client Communication & Relationship Development
Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional, responsive communication
Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day accounting questions and support
Participate in client meetings and follow up via phone and email
Understand client needs and provide timely, effective solutions
Identify and proactively address potential issues, discrepancies, or missing information
Support clients in understanding their financial information and maintaining organized processes
Accounting & Financial Operations (Core + Growth Exposure)
Perform bookkeeping and accounting functions, primarily using QuickBooks
Manage bill pay, expense tracking, and online banking activities
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records
Prepare financial data for tax preparation, reporting, and audit support
Review and support client-managed bookkeeping for accuracy and consistency
Research and troubleshoot accounting and financial-related issues
Gain exposure to financial review processes and support higher-level accounting insights
Workflow Management, Ownership & Professional Growth
Manage assigned client workload with a high level of ownership, including scheduling, deadlines, and prioritization
Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality work across multiple clients
Track and report billable hours and client-related activities
Maintain organized and up-to-date client documentation
Manage internal and client email communications and follow-ups
Attend team meetings and collaborate on client needs and solutions
Contribute to improving internal processes and workflows
Continuously develop skills and take on increasing responsibility as experience grows

Flexible hours
Combination of remote work and on-site client visits (St. Louis metro area)
Monthly staff meetings (including periodic in-person meetings)
Starting at $26 per hour (based on experience)
Compensation includes billable time, some travel time, and administrative time
IRA/retirement program with 3% company match
