Responsibilities
Checking patients out after an appointment.
Obtaining any payment due at the time of checkout.
Scheduling follow-up appointments.
Scheduling patients for procedures.
Verifying that all required documentation is signed for scheduled procedures.
Answering phone calls and assisting callers.
Assemble information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs.
Provide appropriate clinical information to specialists.
Contact insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Background with referrals, preauthorization, and insurance preferred.
Experience in a medical environment preferred.
Strong work ethic.
Strong customer service focus.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Teamwork orientation.
Must have excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of HIPAA is a necessity for this job.
