As we continue to grow, acquire new businesses, and expand our product lines, we are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to support our financial operations.
Role Overview
The Staff Accountant will serve as a vital support to the CFO, by executing day-to-day transactional accounting and supporting essential financial cycles. This is an execution-focused role designed for a motivated professional who is eager to master the fundamentals of DEKit’s financial structure. The ideal candidate will be an "Excel wizard" who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is capable of handling a high volume of transactional data with precision.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Operations
Transactional Management:
Support all aspects of transactional accounting, including posting invoices and overseeing accounts payable/receivable.
Month-End Close:
Execute month-end closing entries and support the CFO in finalizing financial statements.
Inventory & Costing:
Perform detailed analysis on inventory and inventory costing to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.
General Ledger:
Maintain accurate ledger entries and perform routine reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
Entry-Level Financial Analysis:
Conduct basic financial analysis to support strategic decision-making by the leadership team.
Process Improvement:
Implement systems and processes that improve accounting efficiency as the business scales.
Audit Support:
Assist in the preparation of documentation and schedules for internal or external reviews as needed.
Leadership & Growth Potential
Strategic Support:
Handle foundational accounting tasks to allow the CFO to focus on high-level strategic initiatives.
Career Trajectory:
This role is specifically designed for a professional with the ambition to grow into a Controller position as DEKit continues its expansion.
Team Development:
Participate in the evolution of the finance department as the company acquires new business units and product lines.
Qualifications
Experience:
2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing, retail, or high-growth environment.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is highly preferred.
Certification:
CPA is not required for this role, but a plus
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (analytics, complex formulas, and data management).
Attributes:
High attention to detail, self-driven, and a great work ethic to process work efficiently.
Culture Fit:
Passion for the marine industry or boating culture is a significant plus.
