This role focuses on K-12 educational construction projects to ensure estimates and budgets align with the owner\'s requirements for the projects, supporting one of the largest school bond programs in the country with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.
Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish negotiating position.
Provide support in price negotiations.
Prepare claim analyses and estimates.
Prepare detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and sketches.
Assist in reviewing contractor\'s claims and proposals for merit and accountability.
Conduct research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services.
Required Education and Experience

Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, architecture, engineering, or construction management from a recognized college or university.
Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or school construction.
Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs.
Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders.
Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differences.
Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimate the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposal.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Fact-find and in-depth skills.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range for this full-time role is $95,000.00-$126,666.68 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate\'s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
