Junior Financial Analyst

to join our team.
This position evaluates financial and operational performance across the portfolio, develops forecasting assumptions, identifies risk and opportunities and provides analytical recommendations to management. This position reports to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and works closely with Corporate Accounting, Client Accounting, Operations and Sales. This role requires financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret complex data to support strategic decision‑making.
This position is eligible for remote work for candidates residing in one of the following states ONLY: California, Florida, Tennessee, or Texas. Occasional travel to an Action office may be required for meetings and team collaboration. While the role is remote, preference will be given to candidates located near our Irvine corporate office.
Schedule is Monday – Friday business hours.
Compensation: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities

Evaluate financial results against budget and prior forecasts, investigate material variances and provide written and verbal analysis to management.
Develop, enhance, and maintain financial and operational models used for scenario analysis and multi‑year financial planning.
Prepare executive‑level reporting materials and present insights to management.
Contribute to the development and refinement of financial controls, reporting processes and forecasting methodologies.
Lead portions of the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes, including evaluating assumptions, assessing portfolio performance trends and recommending forecast adjustments.
Exercise independent judgment in reviewing operational inputs within Sage and financial models to ensure alignment with company strategy and financial objectives.
Position and Work Environment

Required Skills / Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a large Big 4 firm.
Excel skills required include V‑Lookup, pivot tables, concatenate, text to columns, charts & graphs, data transformation & manipulation with an eye for clean formatting.
Experience with Sage Intacct preferred, with the ability to work seamlessly across multiple systems and data formats. Data & visual analytics experience required.
Passion for reporting, details, and consistently auditing for accuracy.
Strong understanding of high‑level financial & accounting concepts. Ability to apply for accurate, actionable reporting.
Must have a high energy level and be a self‑starter.
Ability to comprehend the purpose, concept, data formats, and insights for various reports. A desire to seek accurate solutions and find insights to help lead business & financial strategy.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Technical savvy – interest in learning and implementing new technology.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
