A typical day as a Tax Associate in Bismarck, ND might include the following:
Prepares individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients in various types of entities and industries.
Works with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed – including tax planning, client interaction, and performing special tax projects.
Gathers relevant tax‑related information from clients so an accurate tax return can be prepared.
Looks at tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
Prepares accounting‑related reports through a paperless office environment.

Who You Are
Has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Has an active CPA license or is working toward obtaining a CPA license; Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also accepted.
Has 1‑3 years of tax experience within public accounting.
Can explain details of tax experience and/or the difference between a 1040 and an 1120.
Has knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
Stays up‑to‑date on the ever‑changing tax industry’s regulations and policies.
Is a self‑starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
Can focus on complex tasks and quickly understand the firm’s comprehensive compliance processes.
Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
