About the Role
Scissors & Scotch is a modern barbershop and bar experience in the Nashville area. We’re looking for a reliable, organized, and personable Office Administrator . This multi-faceted role combines administrative excellence with human resources, payroll, attendance tracking, benefits administration, and occasional front-desk reception & bar coverage. You will play a critical role in keeping our team of barbers, bartenders, and support staff running smoothly so we can focus on delivering an outstanding guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Attendance
Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using our payroll system ADP
Track employee hours, attendance, time-off requests, and PTO
Maintain accurate records of tardiness, absences, and overtime
Reconcile timeclock data and resolve any discrepancies
Human Resources & Benefits Administration
Assist with new hire onboarding, including paperwork, background checks, and system setup
Post new positions on our application tracking system and other related recruiting platforms.
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits
Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and issues
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies
Handle employee relations issues and serve as a point of contact for HR-related questions
Support performance reviews, disciplinary documentation, and termination processes
Track and maintain required certifications and training records (barber licenses, food handlers permits, etc.)
Office Administration
Working with the shop General Manager & Lounge Manager, order and maintain office supplies and breakroom inventory
Prepare reports as needed for the owner and management team
Assist with product ordering & vendor communications and invoice processing
Front Desk / Receptionist (as needed)
Greet guests warmly and professionally when covering the front desk
Answer phones, book appointments, and manage walk-ins
Provide excellent customer service and help maintain the upscale, welcoming atmosphere of Scissors & Scotch
Make drinks for guests and clients
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
Payroll & HR Knowledge: Ability to process payroll and handling basic HR functions, including benefits administration
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort learning new software (payroll/HRIS systems, scheduling tools, etc.)
Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong time management, and ability to prioritize tasks
Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent communication skills
Availability: Remote position but required to visit each shop weekly to meet with employees and address any questions/issue. Must also be willing to cover lounge as needed when we are short staffed
TABC: Must be able to obtain server’s license
