Summary
This position works with the Director of Quality and other key Cancer leadership in the Rush MD Anderson Cancer Center to lead improvement activities which are strategically aligned with the Cancer Center’s quality and accreditation programmatic goals using accepted improvement methodologies, including measurement, analysis, action planning, and results monitoring. Responsible for establishing strong working relationships with interdisciplinary members of the cancer center care team including the medical staff, nursing and ambulatory and inpatient operational areas, administration, and support services. Develops and presents data including executive summary reports, balanced score cards, and other reporting formats via committee structures as assigned. The position encompasses project management, consultation, facilitation, data analysis, and interpretation. Responsibilities
Accreditation/Regulatory/Quality:

In collaboration with the Cancer Center Quality Director, Cancer Nursing Leadership, Medical Directors, and program leadership, manages activities to maintain and enhance Cancer Center’s compliance with cancer quality, patient safety and accreditation standards

Manages accreditation teams and process for cancer specific accreditations and processes including, but not limited to, Commission on Cancer (CoC) American College of Surgeons Standards, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative Certification (QOPI), The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements

Collaborates with the Quality Director to quantify and report on the Cancer Center’s quality improvement initiatives

Interfaces with Cancer accrediting agencies to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria and standards

Works with IS and analytics team on quality initiatives and Cancer Center Quality Dashboards

Monitors and supports the Cancer Center Quality and performance improvement program:

Assures that clinical and operations teams are engaged in improvement activities and that these efforts are documented and reported within the organization

Present data including executive summary reports and other reporting formats via committee structures such as the Cancer Committee (CoC), Cancer Quality, Safety, and Experience Committee (CQSE), Cancer Patient Safety Committee, etc.

Leads assigned projects and initiatives associated with the RUSH MD Anderson Cancer Center and the operational needs of the outpatient cancer center.

Provides consultation and solicits feedback on cancer quality initiatives. Continuously evaluates all disease site programs and develops quality initiatives based on need

Manages audits, creates reports and assesses the need for corrective action and performance/quality improvement

Manages process improvement and quality staff including day‑to‑day supervision, employee relations, and staff development

Maintains responsive and effective relationships in collaboration with Director of Quality, Sr. Medical Director of Quality & Safety, and other program leadership. Communicates effectively with staff, supporting departments, and external agencies

Required Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in related area (healthcare administration, nursing, business, etc.)

Four or more years in a health care setting with training experience in quality and process improvement methodologies

Management experience (people or project) which emphasizes teamwork, participation and communication

Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

Outstanding interpersonal skills and flexibility with a strong work ethic

Demonstrate strong organizational skills and assertiveness to problem solving

Ability to effectively collaborate with physicians and staff members

Ability to meet organizational goals and adapt to changing needs

Ability to collect, correlate, and analyze clinical data as appropriate to determine trends and develop Quality Improvement interventions where needed

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
