Position Summary
Under the direction of the Sports and Wellness Director, the Gymnastics Equipment Crew supports YMCA gymnastics programs by ensuring the safe and efficient set‑up and breakdown of all equipment. This role helps create a welcoming, safe, and well‑organized environment that supports youth development and member engagement in alignment with the YMCA’s mission and core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and break down gymnastics equipment (mats, beams, bars, vault, floor systems) for classes, practices and special events
Ensure all equipment is properly assembled, stable and meets YMCA safety standards prior to use
Conduct visual safety checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately
Maintain clean, organized and accessible storage areas
Support gymnastics meets, special events and community programs with additional set‑up needs
Follow all YMCA policies and procedures, including risk management and safety protocols
Model YMCA core values in all interactions with staff, members, and participants
Requirements
Qualifications
Ability to safely lift and move equipment (25–75 lbs)
Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in gymnastics, facilities or related field preferred but not required
Must be dependable with flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Schedule / Hours
Afternoons(2pm-4pm):
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
Evenings(9pm-12am):
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Schedule may vary slightly based on program and event needs
Working Conditions
Active role requiring lifting, bending and standing for extended periods
Indoor gym environment
Variable schedule based on program needs
