Job Description
Tricon’s Legal & Compliance Department is seeking a motivated, experienced Senior Paralegal to support a wide range of real estate and commercial contracting matters. We are one of the largest owner‑operators of single‑family and multi‑family rental homes and are growing fast. We are looking for a service‑oriented professional who will share our purpose to provide best‑in‑class housing to our residents.
Manage real estate matters and disputes, including title claims, vendor disputes, eminent domain proceedings, CC&R enforcement actions, easements, access agreements and related matters
Support disposition transactions in collaboration with title insurance and escrow companies to resolve third‑party liens, title defects and similar matters
Review and revise easement agreements, HOA governance documents and other real estate agreements
Support commercial contract negotiation, execution and life‑cycle management, including reviewing and revising contracts, coordinating and circulating feedback to internal and external stakeholders, monitoring progress and deadlines, facilitating execution, summarizing key terms, and maintaining a database of contracts tracking life‑cycle events and other key metrics
Use matter and contract management tools to track all matters and support related reporting and dashboards
Facilitate and track office leasing transactions
Assist as needed on strategic department programs, projects and large‑scale transactions
Qualifications
Credibility and presence to interact with and present at senior executive levels internally and externally
Superior problem‑solving skills and legal judgment, highest ethical standards, and a desire to take initiative
A team player who works well in a dynamic and hands‑on operating environment
Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Flexibility to learn and desire to expand skill set; for example, support on other legal programs and landlord‑tenant disputes is a potential growth opportunity
Minimum Requirements
Paralegal with 5+ years’ experience with a major law firm and/or reputable in‑house legal environment
Significant experience supporting real estate transactions, including experience reviewing title insurance and resolving title‑related issues
Experience reviewing and revising real estate documents, including deeds, HOA governance documents, easements, lien releases and SNDAs
Experience supporting full life‑cycle of commercial contracts, including negotiation, execution, and administration is desired
Experience working with contract and/or matter management tools
Familiarity with litigation, including foreclosures, is desired
Salary Range
Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills. $89,680.00 - $149,460.00
