Job Summary
Whitehall Resources is supporting a leading, multi‑site U.S. organization in the search for a SAP IT Business Analyst (FICO) to join their growing IT organization. This role is critical in enabling the business to maximize the value of its SAP S/4HANA platform by optimizing finance‑related business processes using industry‑standard SAP solutions.
The successful candidate will act as a strong advocate for business users, partnering closely with stakeholders to analyze requirements, recommend SAP best practices, and support the ongoing enhancement of SAP solutions. This role requires a blend of hands‑on SAP FICO expertise, strong business process understanding, and excellent communication skills.
The position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and analyze business needs through process analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and observation, with a strong focus on Finance and financial‑impacting processes
Identify and recommend ways to leverage SAP S/4HANA and standard SAP processes to improve targeted business functions
Promote a “Fiori‑First” approach by guiding users on optimal Fiori app usage for end‑to‑end business processes
Provide training and ongoing support to end users to ensure operational continuity and efficient system adoption
Diagnose functional issues raised by users and deliver clear, effective solutions
Collaborate with implementation and support partners to resolve functional and technical issues
Document business processes clearly, aligned with the organization’s terminology and operating model
Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory requirements
Stay current with SAP updates, enhancements, and emerging capabilities
Required Qualifications
Participation in 1–2 full‑cycle, multi‑site SAP implementations, must include S/4HANA and Fiori
3–5 years of hands‑on SAP FICO experience, including Material/Product Costing
Strong understanding of financial business processes and their integration with SAP
Solid experience interfacing SAP with adjacent modules such as:
Production Planning (PP)
Exposure to third‑party finance systems (e.g., travel & expense, close automation, SEC reporting, FP&A) is desirable
Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy, discretion, and integrity
Ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across teams and seniority levels
Strong bias to action with the ability to think on your feet and make timely decisions
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Business, Finance, or a related field
Additional Information
Onsite requirement: 3–4 days per week in Chicago
Estimated travel: Up to 25% within the U.S., depending on project needs
