Apprenticeship Program - Maintenance Mechanic - Gastonia NC

Training Provided
Hands‑on training by a certified Journeyman covering electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment repair.
Repair and maintenance of CNC machining centers, CNC punches, shears, press brakes, punch presses, material handling equipment, HVAC equipment, air compressors, electrical and lighting equipment.
Cleaning and painting, yard work, lubricating, and preventative maintenance.
Formal classroom training in maintenance‑related skills; all educational requirements must be completed within a 4‑year, 8,000‑hour apprenticeship period.
Tools and Equipment Used
Hand tools: hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
Portable power tools, floor and overhead cranes, articulating and scissors maintenance lifts, forklifts.
Welders, burn torches, grinders, drill presses, threading equipment, hydraulic presses, meters, ladders, and fire protection equipment.
Requirements
Must be able to learn and apply all essential functions of the job.
Probationary period of 2,000 hours; performance reviewed by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee at regular intervals.
Upon completion of the apprenticeship program, will be moved to Journeyman pay rate of Grade ST‑C.
Apprentices will be required to work across all three shifts.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States.
Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check and may be required to complete a pre‑employment drug screen.
Position not open for visa sponsorship or to existing visa holders.
