We are seeking a Staff Accountant who will serve as a key contributor to the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy across accounts, reporting, and day-to-day accounting processes. This role is critical to maintaining financial integrity, supporting business operations, and ensuring all financial data is accurate, timely, and aligned.

This is an exempt position based in Fort Mill, SC with hybrid flexibility.
What You’ll Be Doing
This role supports core accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will partner closely with Finance and Operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution across all financial processes.
Accounts Receivable & Payable
Support and manage AR and AP processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare and issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding balances
Assist in processing vendor invoices and ensuring proper documentation
Financial Reconciliation & General Ledger
Reconcile invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation
Perform reconciliation of cash, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
Assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
Maintain accurate and organized financial records
Month‑End Close & Reporting
Support month‑end close activities and ensure deadlines are met
Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting documentation
Ensure all financial data is accurate and aligned across systems
Audit & Compliance Support
Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation
Ensure adherence to company policies and financial controls
Maintain organized records for audit readiness and compliance
What Makes You a Strong Fit
3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Experience with QuickBooks and/or Oracle NetSuite preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The Workhorse Group offers a competitive compensation package, with salary determined based on experience, qualifications, and work location. For roles performed in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency, the anticipated base salary range for this position is between $50,000 and $60,000.
