Job Overview
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll for our large team of 10,000 employees on a bi‑weekly basis, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable tax laws, and collaborating with Managers, People, and Accounting teams to resolve payroll issues and audit needs.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately process payroll for a segment of our 10,000 team member base on a bi‑weekly basis.
Ensure payroll calculations comply with company policies and applicable tax laws.
Ensure proper withholding, reporting, and remittance of payroll taxes at the federal, state, and local levels.
Maintain compliance with payroll tax regulations, including FICA, FUTA, SUTA, and other applicable laws.
Perform routine and thorough audits and checks both pre‑ and post‑payroll processing.
Reconcile payroll accounts and payroll tax withholdings, ensuring accuracy in all records and resolving discrepancies.
Respond to Manager inquiries regarding all payroll related matters.
Coordinate with the People and Accounting teams to ensure accurate team member data and compliance.
Assist with audits, both internal and external, related to payroll and taxes.
Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s preferred).
Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws.
Familiarity with payroll software/HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce highly preferred).
Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, writing and communication skills.
Computer and Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
2+ years of total experience.
