
Tax Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE
SBS Creatix is seeking an experienced Tax Analyst to support Sales & Use Tax operations within the Asset Management team for a contract opportunity based in the St. Louis area. This is a hybrid role in St. Louis, MO, and local candidates are strongly preferred.
This role is responsible for assisting with tax return filings, payments, research, and administrative support while the department transitions to a new Sales & Use Tax software solution.
The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, tax experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Filing & Compliance
Process Sales & Use Tax filings (online and paper) across U.S. states and local jurisdictions
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and proper documentation of filed returns
Maintain organized filing systems for all tax-related documents
Payments & Reconciliation
Prepare and review payment vouchers
Assemble and process payments, including check preparation and direct debits with tax authorities
Support reconciliation and validation of tax payments
Research & Analysis
Conduct tax research using tools such as CCH
Query and analyze data from systems such as PeopleSoft and Reflex
Support general ledger research and reporting activities
Administrative & Operational Support
Manage Sales & Use Tax inbox, including scanning, sorting, and responding to inquiries
Log notices and process certificate renewals
Respond to Financial Advisor inquiries related to Sales & Use Tax certificates
Assist with additional Asset Management responsibilities as needed
Establish state tax registrations and payment logins when required
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
3+ years of accounting experience, including tax-related responsibilities
Experience working with tax filings, forms, and payment processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and VLOOKUPs)
Experience querying financial data and working with general ledger reporting
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team
Preferred Qualifications
CPA certification (preferred, not required)
Experience with Sales & Use Tax processes
Familiarity with systems such as PeopleSoft, Reflex, or similar financial platforms
Experience using tax research tools (e.g., CCH)
Experience in financial services or asset management environments
