Overview
TEKsystems is seeking an experienced CSSP Certification Trainer to support Battle Captains and Cyber Watch personnel in a high‑visibility, mission‑critical SCIF environment. This role is ideal for a former Watch Officer, Battle Captain, or senior incident responder who has transitioned into technical training and enjoys operating independently while engaging senior DoD leadership.
You will serve as a subject matter expert for CSSP certification training-supporting curriculum development, certification tracking, workforce readiness, and continuous improvement efforts across the cyber Watch community.
What You'll Do
Support end-to-end CSSP certification training, from curriculum development through operational transition.
Deliver and oversee CSSP certification training for Battle Captains and Watch personnel within a SCIF.
Analyze and evolve training curricula, performance objectives, certification standards, and evaluation criteria.
Develop and maintain training materials, hands‑on labs, and certification tracking reports.
Establish and maintain a community of interest across government, industry, and cyber Watch trainers.
Support innovation initiatives, future capability planning, and next‑generation technology investments.
Track and report Agency‑level training and certification status for the Watch workforce.
Participate as a CSSP subject matter expert in cyber panels, working groups, and senior‑level meetings.
Build strong working relationships with technology vendors and mission partners.
What We're Looking For
Active TS/SCI clearance
7+ years experience in a DoD SOC or CSSP environment
(DISA or JFHQ‑DODIN experience strongly preferred)
Prior experience as a Watch Officer, Battle Captain, or Incident Responder
Certifications:
CISSP (required)
GCIH IA
Security+ or CySA+
ITIL v4 Foundation
Experience aligning training to DoD 8140 / CSSP work roles
Comfortable briefing and presenting to O-6 and SES-level leaders
Broad understanding of enterprise IT and cyber infrastructure technologies

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Meade, MD.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00–$72.00/hr.
