Position Title
Human Resources Manager & Benefits Coordinator

Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager & Benefits Coordinator oversees all aspects of human resources operations for the district, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and personnel management. This role ensures alignment with state and federal regulations while supporting staff and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the district’s HR systems, including Systems 3000 and Frontline
Coordinate hiring, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and separations
Prepare and present HR recommendations to the Board for approval
Oversee employee relations matters including grievances, arbitration, and tenure issues
Maintain and update job descriptions and personnel records
Ensure compliance with certification, licensing, and employment regulations
Coordinate staff evaluations and oversee Frontline Professional Growth systems
Prepare and submit required state and federal reports (NJ SLED, DOE, etc.)
Administer employee benefits including health, COBRA, retiree benefits, and open enrollment
Manage and track all leaves of absence (FMLA, NJFLA, medical, maternity, etc.)
Provide guidance to employees on leave rights and benefits
Collaborate with payroll on verifications, unemployment, and related reporting
Support labor relations and collective bargaining processes
Enforce district attendance policies
Serve as a resource for policy development and compliance (ADA, FMLA, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience
Experience in human resources, personnel administration, or school HR preferred
Knowledge of labor relations, benefits administration, and employment practices
Familiarity with NJ certification and licensing requirements
Experience with Systems 3000, Frontline, and NJSLED preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Additional Information
12-month position
Salary and benefits determined by the Board of Education
Must meet all employment requirements, including background check
NJ residency required within one year
Benefits
Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription and Dental Benefits
Salary
$85,000-$90,000
