Responsibilities
This is a .7 FTE role supporting the Heart Rhythm and Physiological Monitoring Laboratory. The Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician provides surveillance, analysis, synthesis and preliminary interpretation of patients' heart rhythm patterns and physiological parameters while at rest, during exercise or in response to medication or other procedures. The Technician provides direct patient care for a variety of populations, uses monitoring/testing devices and systems, calibrates equipment, troubleshoots failures, prepares patients and equipment, assesses testing/monitoring types, gives patient education, and records data and preliminary interpretations in multiple reporting systems. The Technician works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, communicates abnormal or critical responses, and activates medical emergencies response plans.

Qualifications
Requires one of the following:

High school diploma/GED and 1 year of healthcare experience.

High school diploma/GED and 2 years of customer service experience.

High school diploma/GED and CCT/CRAT/graduate of certified ECG program.

A Bachelor’s degree.

Additional Qualifications
Direct patient care experience, or current nursing or other health care program, is preferred. Education aligned with a related health science field and experience in a healthcare or residential care setting. Basic knowledge of ECG interpretation, cardiac terminology, and cardiac medications is preferred. Must work collaboratively in a team setting, demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, multitask, be flexible with workflow changes, and have excellent communication, interpersonal, and detail‑oriented skills for extended periods.

Licensure or Certification

CRAT or CCT required within 9 months of hire.

BLS certification required within 3 months of employment.

There is a 12‑month commitment to this position, which begins after the applicant obtains the CRAT/CCT.

Compensation Detail
$22.73 – $32.26 per hour. Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
