Responsibilities
Discern database schema and manage capacity planning to ensure resources are scaled effectively to meet growing data demands.
Design, implement, and optimize complex SQL queries.
Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues, performing restores and analyzing deadlocks by tracing Java‑based application calls.
Demonstrate proficiency in Linux command‑line operations for managing AWS RDS PostgreSQL instances, including connecting via bastion hosts and using PSQL.
Drive application stress testing by triggering large‑scale SQL operations via API calls (Python), analyzing results, and collaborating with developers on data‑driven solutions.
Create and maintain data management plans, backup policies, and SOPs to meet security controls.
Proactively monitor database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal query execution and application responsiveness.
Design, document, and regularly test disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failure.
Understand cloud‑native tools such as AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail for monitoring, logging, and auditing database activity.
Conduct thorough root‑cause analysis for database incidents, meticulously documenting investigation, resolution, and preventative measures.
Administer and support Linux environments (RHEL) within AWS cloud infrastructure (preferred).
Troubleshoot Linux systems and enterprise applications, including Java, Tomcat, and web servers (preferred).
Develop and maintain scripts and automation solutions using Python, Bash, and AWS Lambda (preferred).
Support AWS services, including EC2, RDS, ELB, and related components (preferred).
Design, build, and deploy cloud infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation (preferred).
Apply foundational knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to support compliance and security initiatives (preferred).
Perform tasks independently while collaborating effectively with geographically dispersed teams.
Enhance operational performance by streamlining processes and delivering high‑quality, seamless customer service.
Execute assignments with independent judgment and initiative within defined scope.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Maintain a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and organizational effectiveness.
Deliver high‑quality work products with strict adherence to accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate effectively with Telos Corporation, Telos Identity Management personnel, government agencies, and industry partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s (or equivalent) with 5–7 years of experience, or a Master’s with 3–5 years of experience.
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoD Directive 8570.01 requirements.
U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain access to sensitive information.
