System Administrator II w/Top Secret Clearance (Contingent)
A3 Consulting LLC is looking to hire a System Administrator II for our government client. The experienced System Administrator will be responsible for troubleshooting and supporting mission critical systems and applications in a fast‑paced operations environment which includes coordinating, configuring, and implementing change management processes across systems. In this job you will
Handle user requests for file corrections, backend file ingestion and processing on Windows and Linux servers with a heavy emphasis on Linux administration
Provide Tier 3 support to helpdesk for end user OPIS support
Monitor data transfers within DCSA network and transmissions to external Agencies
Participate in the development, implementation, and validation of new IT projects, deployments, and initiatives
Assists new hires to learn the entry level roles
Manage UAT testing scenarios that require knowledge of how the OPIS environment operates
Works with developers, test team, and test users to coordinate testing before a project is released to production
Provide oversight to the other members of the team
Handles high priority and high visibility requests as made by the business unit or DCSA ITPMO Federal Leads
Works with federal leads and developer staff on production issues that arise and pulls in stakeholders as needed
Document procedures, policies, and configurations related to IT systems and infrastructure
Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the field of IT
Must be willing to work third shift permanently (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM ET) including some alternating weekend and holiday shifts, as this team is a 24x7x365 operation.
Qualifications for the role
Associate's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience
Three to five years of experience as a system administrator
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral
Highly detail oriented and meticulous
Exemplifies critical thinking and outside‑the‑box thinking
Self‑motivated and proactive
Team player
Experience working in a helpdesk‑like environment
Security+ certified (or willing to obtain certification)
Security Clearance
Active Top Secret or ability to obtain interim Top Secret
Salary range
The salary range of this position is $80,000 - $95,000 commensurate with experience and achievement.
