
Junior Associate Attorney

Overview
TonaLaw is seeking a motivated and growth-oriented Junior Associate Attorney to join our Personal Injury team. This role is ideal for an attorney with at least two years of experience who is eager to develop litigation skills, gain courtroom experience, and grow within a fast-paced firm. You will work directly under a senior attorney and be actively involved in all phases of a personal injury case from pre-suit through litigation.
Responsibilities
Litigation & Case Handling
Assist in managing a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution
Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery demands/responses, and legal correspondence
Conduct legal research and case analysis
Court & Depositions
Appear in court for conferences, motions, and routine appearances
Conduct and defend depositions of all party and non-party witnesses
Assist in trial preparation
Case Strategy & Development
Work closely with a senior attorney and operations manager on case strategy and evaluation
Review medical records, liability facts, and damages
Support negotiation and settlement efforts
Client Interaction
Communicate with clients regarding case status and next steps
Help guide clients through the litigation process

Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school is required
Must be admitted to practice in New York
At least 2 years of legal experience (PI experience a plus, but not required)
Strong writing and analytical skills
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Willing and eager to appear in court regularly
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Motivated to learn personal injury litigation and grow professionally
Compensation
$40 hourly
