Job Description
Associate Attorney — Litigation (3–5 years)
Carothers & Mitchell is a busy small law firm seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience (preferred). Ideal candidates are trial‑ready, client‑focused, and able to manage cases from intake through trial.
Key Responsibilities
Handle civil litigation matters: discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation
Draft pleadings, briefs, settlement documents, and correspondence
Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
Manage client communications and case strategy
Collaborate with partners and staff on case development
Required Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active state bar admission
3–5 years litigation experience preferred (insurance defense, civil rights, land use, or personal injury experience valued)
Strong written and oral advocacy skills; courtroom experience a plus
Ability to handle a high‑volume caseload and meet deadlines
Excellent research, organization, and client‑management skills
