Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to drive end-to-end systems engineering for complex, modernized mission systems. This position focuses on translating operational needs and CONOPS into scalable technical solutions across enterprise Linux environments, containerized infrastructures, and NexGen architectures. The role emphasizes the integration of GOTS technologies and Apache NiFi to enable resilient, data-driven mission workflows. The Senior Systems Engineer will serve as a technical authority throughout the system lifecycle, partnering with Government stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure, integrated, and operationally aligned solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret mission needs, user requirements, and CONOPS to define system, functional, and interface requirements with full traceability.
Architect and assess NexGen solutions utilizing Linux server infrastructures, container platforms, GOTS products, and NiFi-based data pipelines.
Decompose high-level requirements into detailed, testable engineering requirements that are clear, verifiable, and mission-aligned.
Author, review, and maintain systems engineering and architecture documentation supporting distributed and containerized system designs.
Implement and uphold configuration management and change control processes, including active participation in CCBs and technical design reviews.
Lead and support system integration, verification, and validation activities across server-hosted and containerized environments, including incorporation of security requirements.
Provide technical direction and coordination across Integrated Product Teams to ensure system solutions are scalable, secure, and operationally effective.
Qualifications
Twenty (20) years of professional Systems Engineering experience supporting programs of comparable complexity, including Linux-based systems, container technologies, GOTS integrations, and data flow solutions such as Apache NiFi.
Proven leadership of systems engineering efforts supporting modernized and NexGen architectural environments.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline.
An additional five (5) years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
