Marion County Health Department or alternating school site locations.
DRESS CODE
Scrubs
TRAVEL
10% of the time. May be assigned to a school site. Can ride with a state employee in a state vehicle. Normally will be an elementary school. Will be at the school for the entire day, not travel required during business hours.
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT
Dental hygiene tools, Eaglesoft and HMS computer software
JOB DESCRIPTION
Using dental instruments and hygiene equipment, performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.
Assisting a high number of patients as required.
Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers.
SKILLS/EDUCATION NEEDED
Must have a clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene license.
Must have a current/active CPR certificate.
Knowledge of dental terminology.
Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices.
Skills using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.
Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.
Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents of Marion County.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
Pediatric Experience highly preferred.
