Assist physicians in providing high-quality patient care, while exhibiting strong customer service skills to all patients and the overall practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Transcription of handwritten dermatopathology requisitions into the laboratory information system
Tracking and counting biopsy specimens first thing in the morning to be sent to the respective laboratories for that day
Registration of patients from our outside clients into ECW/EPIC
Preparing the previous day’s requisitions (sorting by physician) to be sent to billing
Assisting physicians with administrative tasks as needed
Answering phones
Respond to routine slide requests in a timely manner following procedure/guidelines
Preparing slides and correspondence for outside consultations
Consistently demonstrate ability respond to the changing needs of the department on a day-to-day basis
Minimize slower times in the office with general housekeeping, i.e. filing H&E slides, returning slides to their institutions after a consultation is complete
Photocopy, fax and file as required
Maintain office equipment as needed
Willingness to learn new skills, procedures, protocols as they are introduced
Attend trainings and meetings as required
Demonstrate flexibility as needs change in the office
EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED
BASIC KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of medical terminology with a heavy emphasis on dermatology and dermatopathology
Knowledge of medical insurance and verifying eligibility
Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation for dermatopathology reports and outgoing correspondence
Knowledge of multi-line phone system
Knowledge of a variety of office equipment including computers, fax machines and copiers
Ability to file alphabetically or numerically
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one year experience in a medical setting, preferably dermatology
Pay Range: $18.13-$29.90
