Overview
Procter & Gamble’s Global Product Stewardship (GPS) team is seeking a Laboratory Animal Scientist to support safety and compliance functions for our diverse range of consumer products. The role involves providing aquatic husbandry and animal welfare support, completing facility sanitization and equipment maintenance, utilizing veterinary and laboratory animal skills, and managing administrative tasks related to GSMS, Veeva Vault and Excel.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with global work teams including human safety toxicologists, environmental stewards, project leaders, endpoint experts, veterinarians, regulatory and quality assurance, external relations, consumer relations, and external business partners.

Perform vivarium operations, in‑vivo and ex‑vivo testing methods, aquatic‑based husbandry, facility equipment maintenance, and animal welfare initiatives.

Complete facility sanitization and lab preparations for in‑vivo and ex‑vivo testing methods.

Engage in physical activities such as mopping, sweeping, cleaning, scrubbing, climbing, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and transporting equipment.

Operate databases and document management systems compliant with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Apply regulatory requirements, accreditation standards (AAALAC), IACUC expectations, OECD guidelines, and GLP standards to work.

Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Guidance Documents, and IACUC Policies.

Write and maintain IACUC‑related documents and relevant content for multiple SharePoint sites.

Problem‑solve and troubleshoot technical issues in vivarium and aquatic systems, offering solutions and making informed decisions.

Participate in non‑overtime weekend and holiday rotation and provide periodic on‑call services via cell phone.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., veterinary technology, animal science, laboratory animal medicine, veterinary medicine, or biology with laboratory animal experience).

External certification in laboratory animal medicine or IACUC administration (e.g., AALAS, Laboratory Animal Technician or Technologist, Certified Manager of Animal Resources, IACUC administrative professional).

Working knowledge of IACUC administration, GLP, the 8th Edition Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and AAALAC accreditation standards.

Intermediate or expert proficiency with Excel, Word and Microsoft Office.

Willingness to learn specialized software programs and demonstrate business writing skills.

Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform required activities, including lifting up to 25 pounds and transporting equipment.

Availability for weekend and holiday staffing rotation.

On‑site presence at the Mason, OH location five days a week.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Veeva Vault.

Compensation
$85,000.00 – $122,200.00 per year, plus potential bonus and benefits. Total rewards at P&G include salary, bonus (if applicable) and benefits.
