Your Role
As an Architect with Gensler's Healthcare practice in Florida, you will help shape some of the most complex and impactful healthcare environments in the region. Based in our Tampa or Miami office, you will bring together design excellence, technical rigor, and strategic thinking to deliver architecture that is both deeply functional and experientially rich.
You will work within a highly collaborative, client-focused culture that values design quality, resilience, and social purpose. What You Will Do
Direct the production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration activities
Ensure project documentation clearly communicates design intent while meeting the highest technical standards
Resolve complex technical and design challenges to deliver innovative, constructible, and high-quality solutions
Contribute to the development, coordination, and oversight of project manuals and specifications
Coordinate architectural documentation with multidisciplinary consultants, including structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustics, accessibility, building envelope, and life safety
Collaborate closely with project teams, clients, vendors, contractors, and consultants across a wide range of healthcare projects, including hospitals, medical office buildings, outpatient clinics, surgery centers, and community health facilities
Manage AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration) communication and stage approvals for Florida healthcare projects
Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews during construction
Review submittals, substitution requests, and respond to RFIs during construction
Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project
Actively contribute to the financial performance and successful delivery of projects
Support proposal development and contract review in collaboration with the Project Manager
Build, maintain, and strengthen productive, long-term client relationships
Mentor, collaborate with, and support team members across experience levels
Engage in office-wide initiatives, learning programs, and practice-building efforts
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
6-10 years of related experience on healthcare projects, from feasibility studies, pre-design, space programming, master planning to schematic design, design development and construction documents
Experience working within AHCA to deliver projects in the state of Florida is preferred
Manage AHCA communication and stage approvals
Knowledge of building systems, codes, and structures
Proficiency in Revit is required
LEED AP (or in process) preferred
Experience delivering high-performance, resilient healthcare buildings preferred
Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable design practices
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across varying phases of development
Adaptable, curious, and comfortable thriving in a fast-paced environment
Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and client-focused
