Microsection Lab Technician
Microsection Lab Technician is responsible for analyzing cross-section specimens to determine reliability status of production lots. The individual will prepare laboratory reports to be submitted for customer review. Maintain a safe, neat and orderly workplace. Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate cross-section samples in accordance with customer specifications, IPC and Mil specifications
Generate cross-section lab report and issue NCMR for non‑conforming products
Prep micro-section sample coupons including: baking, cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing specimens
Perform solderability and steam age testing
Support Final QC in conforming with customer cross-section requirements for shipping
Must meet all department quality and throughput requirements as well as follow all company policies and procedures
Must be flexible in working in various departments as needed and support overtime needs
Essential Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge in PWB acceptance criteria in accordance with IPC and Military specifications
Experience with IPC 6012 and 6013, Mil specs 31032, 55110, 50884 current amendments, J-STD-003 and applicable printed circuit industry standards
Familiarity with micro-sectioning techniques per IPC‑TM 650
Ability to read and interpret customer blueprint and specification
Proficiency in computer data entry and microscope operation
Familiarity with microscope and laboratory procedures in a manufacturing environment
Printed circuit board related experience preferred
Education and Experience
High School or equivalent work experience in cross-section preparation and analysis
Minimum of 3 years of micro-section analysis experience

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies vary depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
$49,673 – $78,516
Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.
