Position Duties & Responsibilities
Provides nutrition assessment, education and counseling to WIC medical high risk, high risk and low risk clients. Develops nutrition care plans.
Provides breastfeeding promotion, education and support to WIC clients. Responsible for documenting all client contacts in the WIC FL-WISE Data System. Determines client program eligibility. Work is performed following DHM 150‑24 rules and regulations.
Assists in the in‑service education for WIC staff.
Acts on behalf of the Public Health Nutrition Supervisor or Senior Public Health Nutritionist during their absence.
Performs anthropometric measurements and hematological testing for WIC clients following DHM 150‑24 rules and regulations.
Attends staff meetings, trainings and staff development activities as required. Completes leave, attendance, EARS, travel and any other reports as required and according to established procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have required registration in accordance with Chapter 468, Florida Statutes, or eligible to practice dietetics in accordance with Chapter 64B8‑40 to 45, Florida Administrative Code.
Must have a Florida Licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
Preferred Qualifications
Must be able to work early morning, late evening, and Saturdays.
