Job Description
The R&D Associate Chemist will work extensively in the Heavy Equipment market segment, supporting Powder coating technologies. The associate will be accountable for conducting experiments, recording results, gaining basic knowledge of raw materials and powder coating technologies, using lab equipment to prepare powder samples, and various other activities related to developing powder coatings.

Responsibilities

Communicating effectively and promptly with managers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders, including delivering formal and informal presentations as needed.

Hands‑on development: formulating, processing, applying, curing, and testing new coating products.

Participating in support of scale‑up and manufacturing of new products.

Analyzing data to identify trends, resolve customer issues, and assess information for project advancement.

Leading projects with support from a supervisor and/or a mentor chemist.

Establishing timelines and identifying resource needs to support project work.

Gaining knowledge and skills with raw materials, instrumentation, extrusion, additives, and substrates to develop superior performance coatings and performing troubleshooting when problems arise.

Providing timely and accurate data to help resolve field complaints, raw material issues, manufacturing problems, and to support existing and new product development.

Using SDS and raw materials management system.

Adhering to safety policies and laboratory documentation.

Directly working with chemists or technicians to support team project goals.

Basic Qualifications

Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment, without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to determine the difference between colors so you can correctly tint paint to the colors desired by customers.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in powder and/or liquid coating application.

Travel Requirements
20% travel.
