Position: Registered QA Specialist (Per Diem, Day shift).
Location: Jersey City Medical Center, Department: O/P Radiology-Satellite I.
Job Overview
Performs proper radiographic procedures as required by physician orders. Provides patient service using diagnostic, portable and fluoroscopic equipment. Technologist is competent in the production of quality radiographs for proper treatment and diagnosis by physician.
Qualifications
Graduate of approved School of Radiologic Technology
Minimum 3 years experience Mammography
Multiple Modality experience, preferred
Certifications and Licenses Required
Licensed by the State of New Jersey, NJ DEP
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Mammography Certification
Maintains required BLS Heart Saver / Health Care Provider course completion
Scheduling Requirements
Flex Schedule
2 Saturdays per month required
Additional Shifts for PTO/Vacation Coverage; weekday and weekend shifts availability a plus
Essential Functions
Assists Radiologists with special examinations
Competent in the operation of all diagnostic equipment, including portable, fluoroscopic and mammography studies
Competent in the use of the computerized system
Is able to review and retrieve requests/reports
Correctly complies with all national patient safety goals and risk reduction procedures and associated policies as applicable to scope of practice
Follows through on all reported equipment problems with appropriate source ex: manufacture, Bio-Medical
Knows proper positioning and technical factors that meet all criteria for quality radiographs
Maintain appropriate records and data on repairs and sensitometry/densitometry
Maintain proper maintenance of cassettes
Maintains clean examining area
Maintains film processors and appropriate levels of films in all areas
Perform radiographic procedures as required by physician within appointment protocols and standard timeframes based on procedure
Properly prepares patients for diagnostic imaging
Uses 2 patient identifiers before initiating procedures
Properly prepares room and equipment for diagnostic imaging
Provides for basic care and comfort needs of the patient
Provides supervision of the diagnostic staff and coordinates all daily activities relative to the operation of the diagnostic section
Understands principles of asepsis when performing using the C-arm in an OR setting
Utilizes proper body mechanics in assisting or transferring patients to X-ray table from wheelchair or stretcher
