Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. This temporary (PRN) position requires variable hours. The role involves operating assigned scanners to produce diagnostic images while ensuring patient‑centered care and excellent customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sonography Imaging (90%)
Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers.
Explains and prepares patients for sonography procedures.
Performs routine and advanced imaging on designated body portions for physicians’ diagnostics; provides patient support throughout procedure.
Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly as needed.
Follows physicians’ orders precisely and maintains patient records in Radiology Information System (RIS).
Maintains an orderly work area and sanitizes equipment.
Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
Sonography Department Support (5%)
Assist with updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies.
Assist training of new team members.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
Completes other tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements
Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an AMA‑accredited program or CAAHEP.
Registered ARDMS sonographer, current and in good standing.
Sonography certification in an imaging specialty (AB, BR, ObGyn, etc.).
Licensed sonographer in the appropriate state if applicable.
Current CPR certification.
Must have sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently.
Preferred
Certification in ACLS.
OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.
Bilingual.
