Job Summary

RS Automation, a growing turnkey fabrication and mechanical engineering automation firm, is looking for a Welder/Fitter with experience in industrial process piping and stainless sanitary TIG welding. The role requires precision cutting, fitting, and welding skills, along with the ability to read blueprints and maintain tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques.
Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the correct welding process.
Fabricate from blueprints and maintain tolerances at all times.
Layout and fabricate welds based on engineering concepts.
Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness.
Work independently or as part of a team, making sound decisions and solving technical problems.
Prioritize work tasks and maintain a clean work area.
Plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgment, potentially taking over project lead responsibilities.

Requirements & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
2-5 years of experience in precision cutting, fitting, and welding, including layout and assembly welding.
Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and proficiency in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding.
Knowledgeable about purged pipe and sanitary tube welding; experience in purge (sanitary) welding is essential.
Ability to read blueprints, prepare layouts, and fabricate with tolerances.
Understanding of safety policies and procedures, including OSHA requirements.
Basic computer skills are a plus.

Skills

High proficiency in blueprint reading and layout techniques.
Knowledge of welding processes, gases, and filler metals relevant to the company’s projects.
Ability to adjust, troubleshoot, and operate all types of welding machines.
Familiarity with welding safety and OSHA requirements.
Knowledge of press brake and shear operations is a plus.
Some local field installations may be required occasionally.

Compensation

Pay Range: $20‑30 per hour, depending on experience.
