Position: Registered Nurse; Location: Float Pool; Schedule: 36 Hours
About the Unit
The Med/Surge Float RNs provide 24/7 clinical excellence for med/surge areas. Float pool nurses care for medical and surgical adult populations. Working in the float pool hones your med‑surge skills and provides a clinical overview that is unparalleled in any other med/surge area.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical area, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
Communicate with various health‑care team members, patients, and their families.
Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues.
Update and manage patient records.
Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS nursing organization.
Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
Job Requirements
Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
1+ years of RN experience preferred.
Certification in basic life support (BLS).
Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units.
Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
Basic computer proficiency.
Fluency in another language a plus.

Compensation Range: $39.02–$90.05
The compensation range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
