The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on a highly motivated Life Claims Examiner II to join our Workplace Solutions organization in the Claims organization. As a Life Claims Examiner II, you will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, interpretation, and payment or denial of life claims. You will leverage sound and impartial claim judgments by following established best practices as well as key policy provisions. You will have overall responsibility for managing life claims in an ethical manner, ensuring quality decisions, accurate benefit calculations, and timely, proactive communication with beneficiaries, claimants and employers. You will be expected to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction and meet defined standards of performance to include but not limited to time service, response time, productivity, and quality.

What You'll Be Doing

You will make routine & non-routine decisions, applying limited but increasingly more discretion within role except for matters of significance which affect the business as a whole or a significant part of it, in accordance with established procedures & guidelines.

You will apply expanded knowledge obtained from the role in increasingly more complex situations and continue to acquire more knowledge to apply in role. In addition, you will provide a diverse range of information and perform a diverse range of tasks/transactions related to common programs and services.

You will process increasingly complex life claims for payment or denial in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, in a timely manner and meet departmental quality/production standards.

You will review and provide specific information to increasingly complex questions/concerns from internal/external stakeholders (e.g. internal partners, policyholders, brokers, etc.) by applying expended knowledge.

You will provide routine responses and a diverse range of information to junior team members' questions to support organizational capabilities.

You will obtain needed increasingly complex claim information by communicating effectively with internal/external stakeholders verbally and in written form while maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.

You will review increasingly complex submitted claim information for payment. In addition, you will ensure the accuracy and completeness of submitted claims. You will elevate claims issues/concerns to senior team members and/or management.

You will provide customer service to internal and/or external stakeholders, recognize what needs to be done to meet customer needs and demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to meet customer needs on routine work independently.

What We’re Looking For
Must-haves:

High School diploma or GED.

2-3 years of claims experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task.

Nice to haves:

Experience with Life Claims.

Strong mathematical skills for payment calculations.

Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $22.59 - $30.12 with

anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range

and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long‑term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
