Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that values best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements. Pediatric nursing experience is highly valued.
Work Environment: Acute care settings including medical and surgical units, emergency departments, intensive care, childbirth center, pediatric unit, operating room, perianesthesia, endoscopy/GI, and cardiac catheterization lab.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
- Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
- Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
- Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
- Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
- Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
- Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.

Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in accelerated MSN programs accepted.
- Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained as required.
Licensure:
- Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.
Shift: Night shift, part-time (approximately 24 hours weekly).
This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
