Responsibilities
Capabilities of welding in different environments where mechanical piping installation is performed.
Must be capable of welding various positions requiring safety oriented procedures.
Must be knowledgeable of welding equipment and possess welding attire.
Capable of performing 100% weld quality in all positions.
Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products.
Install and repair various equipment and components.
Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
Calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields.
Familiarity with welding tools and procedures.
Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics.
All welders under the trade of piping are required to pass certifications tests on; Carbon Steel Schedule 40 Pipe, open root joint, and in the 6G, fixed position. Welds performed must meet ASME Sec IX Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements.
The process most frequently used in the field applications is Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.
Courses in construction safety are a requirement.
All welders under the trade of piping are required to pass certifications tests on; Carbon Steel Schedule 40 Pipe, open root joint, and in the 6G, fixed position.
Ability to handle physical workload.
Education
Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
This Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of Pipe Welding experience.
