Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing medically prescribed nuclear medicine procedures and will work under general direction.
Job Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
Operates hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to nuclear medicine, including scheduling and modifying exams in the RIS/HIS while complying with HIPAA regulations.
Effectively assesses patient information and status, verifies patient identification, and follows appropriate procedures and protocols.
Independently implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, explaining the procedure clearly and obtaining formal consent when necessary.
Provides comfort to the patient before, during and after the procedure, maintains rapport, and ensures privacy.
Prepares radiopharmaceutical dose using proper procedures and calculations, verifies labels and activity, and calibrates and dispenses radioactive gas as required.
Positions patient and equipment appropriately to obtain maximum information, adjusting settings accordingly.
Analyzes acquired data and reports results to physicians, resolves problems, and performs necessary transmission to PACS.
Maintains cleanliness of the procedure area, prepares equipment and supplies in advance for future exams, and manages work schedules for STAT and emergency cases.
Implements non-imaging procedures, including in‑vivo and in‑vitro specimen handling, and operates counting equipment.
Performs radiopharmacy tasks such as dose preparation, generator elution, and compound radiopharmaceutical preparation.
Handles radiation control: disposes of radioactive waste, follows safety procedures, and performs contamination surveys and decontamination as needed.
Executes routine quality control on imaging systems, calibrates equipment, and maintains quality control procedures to ensure accuracy.
Documents all required records for quality control, dose preparation, administration, waste disposal, contamination surveys, and decontamination procedures.
Executes equipment set‑up, usage, and maintenance procedures, reports malfunctions, and informs appropriate personnel.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree
Completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certified program.
Certification or registration in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
New York State License.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology.
Salary Transparency

Salary range for the role is $99,154.80 – $110,194.80 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range does not include bonuses, incentives, or other compensation.
