
CAD Drafter in Fountain Valley

Job Description
PACE is a dynamic and fast‑paced advanced water engineering firm seeking a CAD Designer to support various engineering drafting needs. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil AutoCAD design, be certified in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and possess a solid understanding of hydraulic, hydrologic, grading, and related civil engineering concepts and US codes and standards. Projects include drainage and flood control improvement plans, technical study exhibits supporting drainage and hydrology analysis, and a variety of drainage structures such as dams, levees, underground storm drains, flood control channels, streambank revetments, and detention basins. CAD responsibilities include preparing exhibits, construction drawings, plans, profiles, sections, and details.
Applicants should be organized and able to manage numerous project files throughout all design phases.
Responsibilities
Make revisions to project drawings marked up by client and/or engineer.
Create and manage electronic document file structure with naming conventions in accordance with company standards.
Work closely with project managers and engineers to set up and manage contract and construction drawings.
Create and/or modify base drawings for various presentation documents.
Produce professional quality outputs from start to finish, adhering to company CAD standards.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Follow CAD standards.
Qualifications
Certified in advanced AutoCAD/Civil 3D use or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in drainage/flood control and land development.
Grading experience is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Receptive and adaptable to change.
Physical Demands
The employee regularly sits, uses hands, handles or feels, and talks or hears. Occasionally stands, walks, reaches with hands and arms, and may lift or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision; vision is very helpful. Occasional field work may be required and includes walking through uneven, rugged terrain, requiring good balance, ability to walk moderate to long distances, and good general vision and depth of field vision.
Work Environment
The noise level in the office work environment is moderate. Employees may be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
