
Physician - Psychiatry - Inpatient

Responsibilities
Deliver inpatient psychiatric care within a 30‑bed adult mental health unit, working collaboratively with another psychiatrist.
Oversee patient management across three specialized units: Mental Health, MICA (Mentally Ill Chemically Addicted), and Gero‑Psychiatry.
Engage in close collaboration with hospitalists, medical specialists, and community‑based healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Actively participate in a multidisciplinary treatment team that includes counselors, therapists, case managers, nurse practitioners, and fellow psychiatrists.
Provide treatment to a diverse population of adult psychiatric patients, addressing a wide range of medical, psychiatric, and socio‑environmental factors.
Exhibit a commitment to delivering patient‑centered and compassionate care.
Participate in the unit’s on‑call rotation, approximately one weekend in every six.
Qualifications
Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
Must possess or be eligible for a New York State Medical License.
A DEA registration must be obtained prior to commencement of employment.
A clean malpractice history is required.
Submission of the most recent NPDB Self Query Report (dated within the last 30 days) is mandatory.
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry, DEA registration, and New York State medical licensure are required.
No additional licensing requirements beyond DEA registration and New York State licensing.
