Job Overview
Seeking an experienced
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
for a 13‑week travel assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive care across
antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care , ensuring safe delivery and stabilization for mothers and infants.
Floating between departments or nearby locations
within 20 miles
may be required.
Responsibilities
Antepartum
Triage and assess patients greater than 20 weeks gestation
Labor assessment and fetal monitoring
Evaluate conditions such as preterm labor, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, and preeclampsia
Stabilize patients for delivery or transfer when needed
Intrapartum
Labor assessment and fetal monitoring
Prepare mothers for delivery
Administer medications including Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, magnesium sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, and hydralazine
Stabilize newborns and assist with cesarean deliveries when required
Postpartum & Newborn Care
Postpartum care for vaginal and cesarean deliveries
Newborn medication administration (Hep B, Vitamin K, erythromycin)
Hearing screenings, lab draws, IV starts, and phototherapy
Assist with circumcisions and care for opiate withdrawal newborns
Stabilize critically ill newborns for transport
Requirements
Minimum 2 years current Labor & Delivery RN experience
State of New Mexico RN License or Compact License
BLS certification
NRP certification
AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) or higher
