Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team.
Qualifications
Litigation experience and Alafile / Alacourt knowledge
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
Must have excellent time management skills, be organized, and be able to multitask
Must have proficient knowledge of computers
Family law litigation experience
Criminal Law experience will be given preference
Communicate well with others
Day to Day Responsibilities
Draft legal correspondence
Prepare pleadings for filing and drafting certificates of service/mailing
Maintain case files
Assist in billing
Assist with discovery
Monitor county dockets
Accurate calendaring
Other support duties assigned by the attorney
Skills
Strong research skills with a solid understanding of family law principles
Excellent proofreading skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to transcribe legal documents accurately and efficiently
Familiarity with legal administrative tasks within a family law and criminal law context
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
