Job Summary
The Experienced Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Automotive Technician performs work specified on maintenance and repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership and/or franchise standards. Competitive wages, paid training, flexible schedules (including a 4‑day work week), a well‑maintained shop with new equipment, and production‑based pay plans with incentives for highly proficient technicians. Your earning potential could exceed $100,000 per year based on experience and production.
Duties and Responsibilities
Acts as a goodwill ambassador for the dealership by promoting professionalism and displaying excellent customer satisfaction skills.
Diagnoses and repairs vehicle automotive systems.
Provides labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
Explains mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non‑technical manner to service advisors and customers.
Inspects and tests vehicles and records findings to determine necessary repairs.
Continues education to keep up with rapidly changing technology and stays knowledgeable of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
Performs all duties safely following all company safety guidelines and policies.
Performs other duties as requested and assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
Two years in a dealership service department as a CDJR technician and ASE certifications are preferred. Good communication, multi‑tasking, and computer skills are a must. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Must have a good driving record.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Extended working hours may be required. Weather conditions vary seasonally. Technicians work indoors in a noisy environment with dust and fumes. Exposure to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials, or other toxic substances is common. Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, and heavy lifting are required. Must be able to move about the complex in all weather conditions and enter and exit most types of vehicles.
