Production Operator – Gurdon Plywood Facility
Georgia-Pacific is hiring for a Production Operator to support the production of pine plywood panels, siding, and related products at the Gurdon Plywood facility.
Salary
$20.00 per hour
$1.50 shift differential for night shift
Potential to increase compensation based on skills and performance.
Shift
Flexibility to work any shift (first, second, or third) as needed.
Availability for overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Orientation on day shift; permanent shift assigned afterward.
Points‑based attendance program.

What You Will Do
Pull and lift plywood panels or scraps up to 25 pounds.
Assemble veneer cores by layering sheets according to specified patterns.
Assist in cleaning, operation, and maintenance of production equipment, including machine and forklift operation.
Adhere to safety and environmental guidelines and proactively identify safety hazards.
Read and comprehend written instructions to complete assigned tasks.
Work cooperatively with supervisors, co‑workers, and other associates to meet safety, production, and quality goals.
Cross‑train on various machines.
Work any hours, including varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Prior experience in manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environments.
Experience using a smartphone, computer, or tablet.
What Will Put You Ahead
At least 2 years of consistent experience in a relevant environment.
Experience driving and operating a forklift or other mobile equipment.
Experience working in wood products (lumber, plywood, or timber industry).
One year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
Walk on elevated catwalks over 15 feet high.
Work in a non‑climate‑controlled mill with dust, noise, and temperature variations.
Perform tasks such as lifting (50 lbs), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to 12 hours per day.
