Position Summary
A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver must ensure the vehicle complies with the Company’s safety standards before operation, adhere to all applicable regulations, and complete vehicle condition reports (VCRs) daily.
Principal Responsibilities
Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of the vehicle to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are operational.
Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route to the disposal site, following the route sheet, maps, and customer calls as assigned by dispatch.
Operate manual or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, use the compactor, and dispose of material at the designated facility.
Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely, professional service.
Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them per departmental procedures.
Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material.
Clean up accidental spills in accordance with safety standards and policies.
Monitor vehicle condition to keep it operational, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
Complete route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other required reports.
Maintain required productivity standards to service all customers efficiently.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Exhibit good customer service skills and a professional, courteous, and trustworthy attitude.
Use effective time‑management to complete responsibilities safely.
Follow the work schedule and address challenges promptly.
Uphold Company policies, promote safety standards, and avoid inappropriate risks.
Maintain pride in work and strive to achieve all goals.
Minimum Requirements
Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
Pay Rate
$23.50.
Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $21.35 to $29.37* and depends on the locality of hire.
