91,000 - 138,800 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)
New York City, NY Positions:
A 5% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.
Job Summary
In this role, you will participate in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project expediting operations. You will distribute workload, monitor assignments, evaluate production schedules and progress, and develop procedures. You will contact suppliers, initiate follow-up, monitor quality, and prepare supplier evaluations. Your planning and problem solving will ensure expediting operations meet project needs.
Major Responsibilities
Participates in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project and area expediting operations for small sized projects.
Distributes workload to assigned project expeditors according to the experience and ability of the expeditor, the degree of complexity of the work and the urgency of the need for action.
Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data, and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment.
Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if suppliers’ programs and work progress meet jobsite requirements.
Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences, and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly.
Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers.
Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates.
Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative.
Education and Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Possesses specialized experience, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable work experience.
Completes tasks in an ingenious, effective and moderately complex way.
Works on difficult assignments that require judgment and initiative.
Understands the implications of the work and makes recommendations for solutions.
Minimal supervision with considerable leeway for judgment.
Complete difficult assignments without assistance.
Can mentor less experienced team members and assist supervisors.
Knowledge of Excel and Word. Platform: EBS ETA (Bechtel BSAP Platform that every activator must use).
It does not require specific certification, you must have a minimum of a 2-year academic degree, with administrative skills, and basic knowledge of industrial equipment related to the mining sector.
English management: Basic or Technical English.
